Heads-Up-Imaging®
DeJarnette Research Systems introduced the Heads-Up-Imaging display paradigm at RSNA 1997, with a works in progress demonstration of the revolutionary Visishare display station. Heads-up-Imaging improves radiologist productivity by minimizing the time spent interacting with the diagnostic workstation, so that more time can be spent reading images. Just as SimulScan was a revolutionary capability in the early 1990's, and enhanced departmental productivity, so too is Heads-Up-Imaging, in the late 1990's. Heads-Up-Imaging maximizes the dark reading area of a display monitor's surface area, by minimizing the space utilized by computer control icons and menus. Sophisticated control algorithms are implemented which reduce the need for on screen tools and menus. These same algorithms minimize the number of mouse-clicks/keystrokes required, by a radiologist, to effect the most frequently used workstation functions. Display station "hot-buttons" and "keyboard-macros" are rendered unnecessary in the Heads-Up-Imaging display paradigm.
